Grace Coudal is like a warm hug in human form. A true positive, creative light. Known for her timeless, soft film photography, she brings a warmth to every image she captures. When you first meet her, her smile and sweetness draw you in, but beneath that charm lies raw, undeniable talent.
Grace is a joy to work with (so much so we hired her to assist on our first Milkflower shoot), a breath of fresh air who makes every collaboration feel effortless. And her personal work delves into soft moments of intimacy, identity, and queerness, capturing the essence of human connection with every frame. It’s truly an honor to feature her in this month’s People with Taste.

”A few months ago, my girlfriend and I stumbled upon Ravenswood Used Books, which is where I found The Vein of Gold by Julia Cameron, the author of the popular book, The Artist's Way. This book has really found its way into my mind and heart by deconstructing and reimagining creativity. If you're looking for some creative inspiration, I highly recommend it.”
"When the heart creates, it lovingly explores both the familiar and the unfamiliar. When the ego creates, it does so with one eye on the competition." - Julia Cameron
“The past few months I've been attending more artist talks and exhibitions around the city and have been inspired by artists and painters. In high school and college, I painted far more than I photographed, but over time, that balance shifted to where I am now working as a full-time photographer. For so long, I've said I wanted to get back to painting, craving a tactile hobby free from the pressure of profit and at the beginning of the year I finally started again.”
“In a time of relentless daily attacks on LGBTQIA+ rights and livelihood, I’ve found inspiration in following Chase Strangio and the ACLU team. Strangio, a lawyer and co-director of the ACLU’s LGBT & HIV Project, is doing critical work in the fight for justice. The amazing work he and the ACLU team are doing is so desperately needed in a time of such bigotry and hatred.”
